Fourth Quarterly Meeting (December 2018)

The fourth quarterly meeting was held at Drusilla Seafood on December 4.  Members and guests enjoyed food while we were drawing for door prizes.  Out-going President Trudy Ivy remembered 2018 before installing in-coming president Lin Ashton.  Sheila Melancon led the guests in singing Christmas carols and "Let There Be Peace on Earth" to end the meeting.

First Quarterly Meeting

The First Quarterly Meeting was held January 25, 2018, at St. Paul Lutheran Church.  The focus of the meeting was the upcoming journeys for 2018 -- both incoming and outgoing.  Vice President Lin Ashton talked about an incoming journey in March that will include ambassadors from Oklahoma City, Las Vegas, and Western Colorado.  Sheila Melancon reminded club members what a great time we had in Bundaberg, Australia, and those ambassadors will be visiting us in October.  Morena Cazedessus talked about a week-long home stay in Bogota plus a 3-night hotel stay in another South American city.  Trudy Ivy told the group about two home-stay opportunities in Ohio and Kentucky before the Super Conference in Cincinnati in April.  Joellyn Grass talked about the things we might see during the Western Colorado journey in October.  Lin Ashton asked for someone to volunteer to be the journey coordinator to Western Michigan in June.
The highlight of the evening was the celebration of Mardi Gras with the decorations, the costumes, the music, the food, and the drink.  Thanks to the Cajun dancers for judging the costume contest.  Thanks to BRQ and Jasmines on the Bayou for providing prizes.  The King and Queen of FFBR's Mardi Gras were Gale and Owen Cope.  Keith and Glenda O'Bannion were second place.  Barry and Gail Carpenter received third place.

Second Quarterly Meeting (Cinco de Mayo)

The second quarterly meeting was held at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 5, 2018.  Everyone enjoyed a taco bar with all the trimmings.  It was amazing how good all the Mexican side dishes were. The meeting consisted of discussing our upcoming journeys both incoming and outgoing.  Everyone enjoyed dressing up and dancing.

Third Quarterly Meeting (Hot August Night)

The third quarterly meeting was held at Bob and Gayle Duncan's home in Hammond on August 25.  We welcomed several guests.  Bob organized several great games and one team won great prizes to take home.  Everyone enjoyed grilled oysters, barbecued shrimp, brisket, and lots of sides.
Officers for 2019 were elected.  Lin Ashton will be president, JoEllyn Grass will be vice-president, Marsha Sills will be secretary for the second year, Karen Pharis will be treasurer, and Trudy Ivy will remain on the board as past president.  LaDeta Crawley is still on the board, Carolyn Adams begins a two-year term on the board, and Mary Doerner begins a two-year term on the board.
Sheila Melancon discussed the upcoming incoming exchange from Bundaberg, Australia.
